Title: Scoring track extension
Post by: Gio_Carc on September 26, 2008, 04:10:54 am
Hi everybody,

I'd like to share with you my small contribution to Novelty and Scott's 100-point scoring track.
I took inspiration from the existing (official?) Erweiterungzaehleiste and extended it to be compatible with the larger "brother" for confortable scoring when playing with all expansions.

I attach a low resolution version and a pic of the whole built up. If you like it (and there is nothing wrong with copyright etc.), I'll be glad to upload the high resolution file.

Just let me know - hope you'll like it!

Ciao!

gio

Very nice! Wow I didn't realize scores actually could go that high!  Best thing to do would be to email me the file, and I'll host it on the site and credit you. Check your forum messages for a PM.

Wow, I'm so amazed to see the 100-point scoreboard not only printed out on what appears to be card, but that's there's an expansion to the scoreboard.  As someone once said to me, you know you've made it when someone else puts out a fan-made expansion/extension to your work ;D

I like the what has been done, Gio, but I think it's a little hard to read the numbers (with the exception of 300 and 400).  I think there is also a spacing issue on the 500.  Other than that it looks good!

This is excellent. Taking Novelty's point above, perhaps it would be better if the numbers were completely solid yellow other than a transparent yellow :)

Hey, hi everybody again!

Thanks for the kind replies and useful feedback. This weekend I'll correct some small glitches as suggested and then the final version should be ready.

Ciao!

Gio

Great indeed!!

How many times did you have doubts about the "real" points because a 50 point card might have been forgotten.  ;D

I don't think this will happen so easily with 100 pts board

This would be good for megacarc as well.  However, it might mean that one has to buy an extra marker of some sort for the extension.  It would give me an excuse to buy the squares from meeplepeople!

Not a problem. When we play Mega-Carc we normally pull two or three meeple out of everyone's supply anyway. With so many followers with all of the expansions included there is not enough constraint on resources (meeples). Reource management is a key component to the game.

One could also do it so that people will have to choose which figure to put on the score track; no oridnary meeples allowed! Will you sacrifice your pig, or your barn? :D

Good day!

One last update: file has been updated and submitted to Gantry who'll gently take care for publication.
Simply download, print and... enjoy mega-carc!

My two cents to the "extra-meeple"-question: for 2 Euros I ordered directly from HiG 6 big meeples (one for color) and a black wagon and major (as markers for king and robber); easy: normal meeples for normal scoring, big meeples for big scores ;-)
HiG responded quicky and they even sent me a River-2 set as a present. So now on my mega-carc can be organised a rafting-contest :-)

Looking forward for the upcoming Catapult...
Many greetings from northern Italy!

Gio

We use the scoring track that fits on the 50 point board:

and use an extra standard meeple of each colour for tallying the score on this track :)

All done, take a look on the Downloads (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=46&Itemid=59) page!

And Joff, if you want to create a full-colour & size version of that board, I can post it too.

That's much better. Well done Gio.

I'm not sure if we are allowed to host it at CC. A link for it is here: http://carcassonne-city.de/giveaways/umrundungsleiste.pdf (http://carcassonne-city.de/giveaways/umrundungsleiste.pdf)

Ah, I didn't realize it was from Martin Storbeck's site! No, I wouldn't want to post it without permission. I originally thought you made it.

Hi!

When it comes to the Umrundungsleiste, this is what I could sum up:

a) there was once a direct download link from the HiG Service page:

http://www.carcassonne.de/53.0.html

The link is broken since they updated the homepage layout last April.

b) At carcassonne-city, the file is in the "Official give-aways" section.

Ergo:

c) The file should be not property of Martin Storbeck (this is my guess). By the way: this is the scoring board extension I took inspiration from, like stated in my first post.

Anyway, now I'll definitely stick with the 100-point version ;-)

Ciao!

I like that version better too, especially after all the changes!

Our record in points is 570, so that extension would work perfectly.
But I don't want to sacrifice any more meeples.

In that case I will post it up.  Anyone notice that the meeples on that carc.de page have really tall narrow heads? Perhaps from a different game?

The meeples are from Carcassonne: The City :)
