Title: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Novelty on August 31, 2008, 10:49:17 pm List of Carcacassonne, expansions and spin-offs. Hopefully this will be a good guide for those looking for infomation about what the different expansions are, and what's are the spin-offs.
Carcassonne series: Note: English names used. German-only (and other non-English language-only) expansions are listed by their German (or non-English) names first. Publisher listed is the original publisher. RGG = Rio Grande Games, HiG = Hans im Gluck. Published
Collected sets (republished with no new content)
Spin-offs Note: These games are not compatible with the original Carcassonne game. With the exception of Carcassonne: King and Scout, these games are complete in and of themselves.

Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Novelty on September 01, 2008, 10:54:46 am Updated first post to move the Spielbox 2008 expansion to the republished section (eventhough technically, it's a new expansion). Thanks Matt for the info!
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Joff on September 02, 2008, 02:10:30 am Excellent post, Novelty! Just what the forum needs :)
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Novelty on September 02, 2008, 03:23:53 am Well, it was what I needed, so I figured I might as well create something for everyone to enjoy. Besides, it's a pain to navigate to BGG all the time when I need the info. Since Carc Central is bookmarked for me, it's much easier to have the info here. I hope other people find it useful too.

Big thanks - Big Kudos.
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Tobias on September 04, 2008, 12:39:43 am I hope other people find it useful too. Definitely! I plan to rip it off for the next CAR ;DSpeaking of Rip-off. Do not forget Värmlandskampen: http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/forum/index.php?topic=63.0 ;D Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Novelty on September 04, 2008, 09:19:30 pm I think I will leave the swedish rip-off off the list then. But I did add the Limited version into the list. Can someone tell me if HiG published the Limited Edition, or was it just a RGG thing?
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Nors on September 05, 2008, 02:57:54 am There is a mistake in the summary:
Carcassonne: The Princess and the Dragon Publisher: HiG & RGG Release Date: 2005 New Concept: Princess, Dragon, dragon tiles, volcanoes Tiles: 30 land Meeples: 1 princess (white), 1 dragon (red) Others: 20 trade good tiles, 1 cloth bag Otherwise a great summary :) Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Novelty on September 05, 2008, 03:58:54 am Good catch. That's what happens with cut and paste. I have edited. Thanks.
All suggestions welcomed, as usual. Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Scott on September 06, 2008, 10:55:00 am I think the second mention of King and Scout should have a picture of the Scout side of the box, since it is being mentioned again in context with H&G.
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Novelty on September 06, 2008, 10:57:07 am I think the second mention of King and Scout should have a picture of the Scout side of the box, since it is being mentioned again in context with H&G. I think so too... could you find me an image online (Scout only, without the King) so that I can modify the table?Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Novelty on September 26, 2008, 02:06:56 am Scout image updated together with some minor changes. Does anyone think I should include Carcassonne: Die Steinmauer (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/21165) in the list as well?
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Joff on September 26, 2008, 02:26:21 am I would say no. The Stone Wall (Die Steinmauer) is an unofficial expansion to H&G and as such would mean that ALL unofficial expansions would have a 'green light' and should be included in the list... this would be a mammoth task and cause confusion as to what were official and unofficial products.
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Novelty on October 03, 2008, 08:09:12 am I have updated C,S & C with the BGG image, but would prefer something that is more consistant with the layout here. If anyone knows where I can get that image, please do let me know.
Also, Amazon.de lists katapult being released on 10th October, so I'll update this then... Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Scott on October 03, 2008, 10:39:48 am No box art on RGG site for CS&C :(
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Tobias on October 03, 2008, 02:37:35 pm Scout image updated together with some minor changes. Does anyone think I should include Carcassonne: Die Steinmauer (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/21165) in the list as well? I would also say no. Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Novelty on October 07, 2008, 10:25:43 am Yay, thanks to Joff, I now have (http://www.dukenostalgia.com/junk/CSCtop.jpg) in the list. First post updated!
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Scott on October 07, 2008, 10:31:06 am Wow, that explains why there is no box art on RGG's web site. It's very sad looking.
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Novelty on October 10, 2008, 06:49:26 am Moved the Catapult from upcoming to released! It's available on Amazon.de (http://www.amazon.de/Schmidt-Spiele-48188-Carcassonne-Erweiterung/dp/B001CFDTOG).
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Diminuendo on March 02, 2009, 03:54:00 am I consider this to be a small error:
Carcassonne: The Princess and the Dragon Publisher: HiG & RGG Release Date: 2005 New Concept: Princess, Dragon, dragon tiles, volcanoes Tiles: 30 land Meeples: 1 princess (white), 1 dragon (red) Others: None My P&D came with a fairy. :-p Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Novelty on March 02, 2009, 04:42:56 am Heh, thanks Diminuendo. Corrected! Please feel free to post about it if anyone finds more :)
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Vulch on June 18, 2009, 04:44:32 am Novelty do you need to add Big Box 2 on this list?
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Novelty on June 18, 2009, 06:00:58 am Novelty do you need to add Big Box 2 on this list? I should actually, but I can't find a good picture of the box :( I'll update this when I get a good picture. Please keep reminding me. Thanks.Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Skull One on June 18, 2009, 10:16:12 am BG2's lid will not fit on any of the scanner's I own or have access to. I could try to do a 4 part scan and join, but I can almost guess the result. Crap. But I do have the game if someone can come up with a good idea for a way to capture.
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Novelty on June 18, 2009, 10:37:22 am I was thinking of capturing it with a digital camera. Of course the lighting would have to be good, which is why I need to arrange for it.
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: CKorfmann on June 18, 2009, 11:55:28 am HERE (http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs112.snc1/4945_629780268688_55705953_37021870_1737249_n.jpg) you go.
Title: Re: Carcassonne, the guide Post by: Novelty on June 18, 2009, 12:01:03 pm Good idea. I have a better idea, there's an image on the Upcoming releases in 2009 (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/forum/index.php?topic=807.0) thread, thanks to Laserschwert in this post (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/forum/index.php?topic=742.msg9023#msg9023). I'll use that :) Do remember to give him merit points :)
Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: aeoliner on July 08, 2010, 08:27:41 pm
it counted the king and robber baron as tiles Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Novelty on July 09, 2010, 09:44:04 pm The King and the baron are more "others" rather than tiles. They can't be played onto the "board".
Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: loganmann1 on November 03, 2010, 02:47:24 pm Should this be updated to reflect that the base game no longer comes with the River?
Looks like we can add die Pest to this list as well. Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Novelty on November 14, 2010, 07:31:33 am Is there a picture of an English box with no River, but with uh… what does it comes with again??? Or is the base with the whatever it is only German?
Edit: Done. I've also added a note to say that the cropcircles comes with the new copies of the base game. Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: loganmann1 on November 18, 2010, 11:22:01 am I thought die pest was 6 tiles, 6 plague tokens and 18 flea tokens (vs the 12 mosquito tokens listed). I don't have it yet so maybe it is just 12.
Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Whaleyland on November 18, 2010, 04:28:39 pm I thought die pest was 6 tiles, 6 plague tokens and 18 flea tokens (vs the 12 mosquito tokens listed). I don't have it yet so maybe it is just 12. You are correct. But the tokens take up the print space of six more tiles. Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Novelty on November 19, 2010, 04:01:32 am I dont' have it either. Thanks for the correction. I've changed it to 18.
Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Whaleyland on November 19, 2010, 12:18:43 pm You need to add the Big Box 3 to the list, and you may want to list the Castle expansion, even though there is nothing out about it yet. Also, was Count, King & Cult on the list? I don't remember seeing it. Cheers!
Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Novelty on November 20, 2010, 01:06:45 pm Count, King & Cult is listed under it's German name Graf, König und Konsorten because it was only available in German. Or has that changed? I'm so out of touch these days.
Good call on the Big Box 3 - now I'll have to hunt for an image and put it in, but it shouldn't be that difficult. And I'd like to list the Castle expansion... when we get a box image of the expansion. Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Whaleyland on November 20, 2010, 07:14:51 pm Count, King & Cult is listed under it's German name Graf, König und Konsorten because it was only available in German. Or has that changed? I'm so out of touch these days. It's a rather vague status, but it was included in Big Box 2 under Count, King & Cult, which sort of makes it an English expansion, even if it was never available separately. Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Novelty on November 20, 2010, 08:13:44 pm even if it was never available separately. Which means that there isn't any box image for me to list it under... which is why it's listed only under its German name.Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Carcking on April 18, 2011, 11:35:46 am Good call on the Big Box 3 - now I'll have to hunt for an image and put it in, but it shouldn't be that difficult. Novelty, great post! This list is so handy to have for reference. Maybe this has been mentioned to you, maybe not. Your listing of the Big Box 3 does not include the Abbey & Mayor in the description of the reprints. Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Khonnor83 on September 06, 2011, 04:50:44 pm Very nice to use this list as a sort-of checklist.
I really want to get Graf, Konig Und Konsorten, even though I own The Count and Cult And Siege. It's really confusing with all these German names and different English translations. What's the difference between Cult & Siege, Kultstatten and Die Katharen....which are included in GK&K? If I purchase GK&K will it come with English rules? I guess not. As it did come as a part of Big Box 2, are English rules availabe for this particular expansion (GK&K)? So many questions, I know...so sorry...haha Just excited about what to collect... Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Whaleyland on September 06, 2011, 05:29:51 pm Can someone update the original post to read "flea tokens" for Die Pest, and to add the known information on The Phantom and The Festival. Also, Der Schule could probably be added now, though the purpose is not entirely clear yet.
Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: CKorfmann on September 06, 2011, 05:37:10 pm Can someone update the original post to read "flea tokens" for Die Pest, and to add the known information on The Phantom and The Festival. Can you not do that Mr. Mod? ;) Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Whaleyland on September 07, 2011, 02:16:30 am lol. Forgot I could, actually. Alright, everything is up to date again. I made one assumption, but I bet it'll be right.
Title: Re: Carcassonne and its expansions, the guide Post by: Khonnor83 on September 07, 2011, 04:26:14 am As The Festival tiles are only available (for now) with the 10th Anniversary edition, maybe you could mention the set also comes with a Meeple-shaped Score Board and 5x8 transparant meeples for each color (except gray/purple)?
