Carcassonne Central

First of all - a big hi to all!!

I'm new to Carc Central, but I'm already really interested in the idea of making your own fake tiles.... Here's my first attempt, its a little sketchy around the edges and I'm not even sure if a tile like this already exists!  :D

Nice!  I like that.

that is nice... I just need to figure out how to make the actual tiles then I can print this one up! you could also do a variation on that where you continue the road to one of the cities to break up the farming or to allow the wagon to continue along it

Thanks for your comments! ;D Really appreciate it. I like the idea about the road continuing on to the city, I'll do that one as soon as I get a chance!

Only just spotted your name Novelty! Really like all the tiles you've made - they're part of the inspiration for me making my own!  :D So thanks again! :D

I'm not sure I like the second one.  The borders are a bit blurry, and there's some (normally unnoticable, unless someone is looking for it like I have been) image quality loss around the edges.  But it's still good.

I have a suggestion.  Why don't you take the image of tiles with the borders from the internet (I take mine from Boardgamegeek.com) and use those instead.  That way, if you lose out some quality from the outside border, it doesn't matter because there's still the inside border.

Thanks for those, they make a lot of difference I think they'll improve the printing a great deal. I definitely agreed with you on the second one (you'll notice I've redone the edges) I added it the first time as more of a 1st draft, but it was bugging me too much, hence the cleaned up version!

Thats where I was looking before, but I was worried that the image size might not be the same as the tiles when printed out, so started scanning them instead, but if you've had no trouble with them, then that's what I'll probably do from now on.  :)

I looked through the image galleries on BGG once upon a time looking for good tile images but couldn't find any. Guess I just wasn't looking hard enough.

I've had another look too. There are some decent images, but a lot of them are very small. I think I'm gonna keep going with the scanned images, but I'm going to continue cleaning up the edges as with the last cloister.

Djwurm - here's the cloister you suggested with the road continuing on into the city - hope its what you meant - let me know if its not  :)

There aren't many, but the ones scanned by a certain mjharper isn't too bad :)
