Title: Fairy at end of game
Post by: dwhitworth on April 18, 2008, 05:47:40 pm
mdjvz has raised an issue in another thread that I had not considered and while I think I agree I would like some confirmation that we've got it right.

At the end of the game the fairy can be next to a meeple in an incomplete feature that is being scored.
The fairy bonus of three points WILL apply to that meeple/feature even though it is incomplete.
The bonus will be earned even if the meeple scores nothing (e.g. a cathedral city or incomplete inn/lake road).

All agreed?

It is possible for the fairy to be next to a meeple on an incomplete feature when the game is over.

The trigger for the fairy bonus points is the feature being scored. It doesn't explicitly say that the feature is complete. At game end, incomplete features are scored.

Furthermore, the rules explicitly state that the 3 points is independent "of how much (if anything) the player scores". This does indicate that even a road which scores zero points because of an inn on the lake can still earn 3 fairy points.

Agreed on all points.

without consulting the rules, that is how I understood it to be.
