Title: A question on colours
Post by: Tobias on March 04, 2007, 10:10:06 am
This irks me, even though I know it's a minor thing. But, how come that the boxes for Traders and Builders and River II are red? All the other boxes are blue. When I was looking over the different siblings in the Carcassonne family one of the first things I noticed was that the colour theme was really making sense, and how it was a  good way to distinguish the different games from eachother. Until I saw the T&B box. (The River II box I can live with, it fits into one of the other boxes).

Can anyone offer some enlightment? Ordinary musings are welcome as well ;)

Actually I really like the deep red colours, but what irks me more is that there's no rhyme or reason to the colour choices when you take all the expansions into consideration.  Imagine a pink Princess box or a pollution-brown River II box....  :P

A pink box .. that would hurt somewhat I think ;)

But, I agree with you and that's was really my main "complaint". Original Carcassonne was darkish blue, Arc of the Covenant is Red, etc. So why make T&B have a red box? Now - to be fair T&B was published before Arc (right?), but still!
