Title: Carc Tournament in Western Canada?
Post by: dwhitworth on February 05, 2008, 02:28:38 pm
I notice that at least three of the regular participants in this forum are from British Columbia. We must all have more playing partners/friends locally.

Has anybody thought of organizing a BC tournament?

We could of course include Washington State as well . . .  ;D

I live less than half an hour from Gantry. You'd have to take a ferry over here since you're on the Island.

I have two brothers who have played with me a few times, but the younger one hates board games and the middle brother doesn't like to play with less than three people. Last time we played was back in August when my cousins were here from Edmonton and one from Winnipeg. My friend who introduced the game to me in the first place lives in Calgary. His brother lives around here somewhere and likes to play Carc, but I've never played a game with him. Most people I know are more into Settlers of Catan, and they have tournaments a few times per year to raise money for charity.

Anyways, that's probably more than you wanted to know. If somebody wanted to organize a Carc game here in BC, I'll try my best to come.

Vancouver has a pretty large boardgames club (the name escapes me at the moment).  I'm sure if anyone wanted to organize a Carc tournament, or have one as part of another event, they'd be a good resource to talk to.  If there was one, I'd show up for sure if at all possible.
