Title: Forum Upgrade Post by: MrNumbers on November 29, 2012, 01:36:07 am I suppose that forum engine upgrade failed and is restored from half-year old backup :o
At least forum is working ;) Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on November 29, 2012, 07:06:21 am Hi MrNumbers,
I was at Essen Spiel 2012. I talked with HiG - Georg Wild and Christof Tisch - about the questions. In the last weeks Obervet03 and I were working a lot. The next coming CAR 6.2 has all the clarifications. Greetings kettlefish Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on November 29, 2012, 08:11:58 am We have here the same problems since before the forum was gone.
If you can't login: Here is a post from Whaleyland at BGG: ------------------------------------------------ The white screen is the correctable problem. Don't log in using your netbook. Then do this: Type in your Username and Password Click "Login" From the white screen, hit the back button on your browser Display will read "Welcome, Guest" Click "Home" Display will read "Hello, (Your name)" The same thing works after posting, replying, or sending messages. It is a huge pain, but it works until Gantry or Scott can fix the forum. Apparently they both are having RL problems. Ugh, though understandable. If you're auto-logged into CarcCentral, you can't use this technique. I have yet to find out how to get that problem resolved. Kettlefish discovered the above solution. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: MrNumbers on November 29, 2012, 08:57:41 am Hi MrNumbers, I was at Essen Spiel 2012. I talked with HiG - Georg Wild and Christof Tisch - about the questions. In the last weeks Obervet03 and I were working a lot. The next coming CAR 6.2 has all the clarifications. Greetings kettlefish OK, I will impatiently wait for 6.2 :) P.S. My auto-login works all the time. I use address http://carcassonnecentral.com/forum/index.php (http://carcassonnecentral.com/forum/index.php) and directly go to forums list logged in without white screen. However, when sending messages and replying white screen is still the issue. (Windows 7, Opera 12). Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on November 29, 2012, 09:20:27 am I know, you can come in here in the forum, but many others can't or they do not know how.
We German have now our own forum. We didn't like to wait so long. And at that forum we have all the news about the next coming CAR 6.2. And there you can find the finished CAR 6.1. I posted the link to Maik's Carcassonne-Forum with the CAR at the Homepage from HiG - Carcassonne - Grundspiel - scroll down under the video - Kommentare (Marion, 12.11.2012 - 7:39) Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on November 29, 2012, 03:18:53 pm I was at the fan-meeting at Burg Konradsheim (West-Germany).
There was the author Klaus-Juergen Wrede, too. We talked together and he gave the fans autographs. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on November 29, 2012, 05:30:24 pm I can't send a PM.
The Verification-Code - The picture is not there - so I can't see any letters or numbers of any Code. Some month ago we haven't such a "Verification-Code". It was easy to send a PM. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Scott on November 29, 2012, 07:05:45 pm Definitely still having some problems, but something is better than nothing.
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: MrNumbers on November 30, 2012, 01:21:08 am For almost a year I have my own forum about Carcassonne. It is not so popular, but the goal of making my website and forum was to popularize Carcassonne in my country. Now I have a partnership with local Carcassonne distributor and we regularly organize Carcassonne evenings, where everybody can come and play Carcassonne with many expansions with other players.
What I am trying to say: my forum is based on SMF too, but v2.0.2 (latest at the moment). I haven't got any experience in upgrading forum engine, but my profession is system administrator, so I can offer some help to CarcassonneCentral forum administrators in forum engine upgrading. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Fritz_Spinne on November 30, 2012, 07:21:56 am Test only!
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on November 30, 2012, 09:23:10 am So many people can't post anything. Whaleyland can't some hours ago.
I hope, that he could post something later. Fritz_Spinne can post now. Every time when I like to post something, I first copy the text (for example in a word.doc) and then I choose the "Post" button. If I forget this, than sometimes all the text is gone and I can write all again. The white screen - the backfile button - (ignore what I see) - the "HOME" button - and than I look if the post is there here in the forum. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on November 30, 2012, 12:05:44 pm Whaleyland - can't you post anything?
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Whaleyland on December 01, 2012, 12:22:51 am I got in...on Firefox! I'm auto-logged in on Safari but can't post anything there, and I can't log in on Chrome for some reason. Yay Firefox for letting me in!!!
PS Thanks kettlefish for posting the item earlier. I re-posted it under my own name and deleted yours. No offense intended, just wanted to correct a few things and sticky it as well. Cheers! Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on December 01, 2012, 01:14:08 am Hi, Whaleyland,
I'm glad to see you here again. If you ignore the errors (white screen, log in failed) only back button (and again ignore what you see) and than the HOME button.... I think Chrome would work than, too for you. Scott wrote me an email yesterday. He told me that Gantry will do the work at the forum this weekend. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on December 01, 2012, 09:36:25 am Yesterday HiG linked twice the German Carcassonne-Forum (Maik's Carcassonne-Forum) at their Homepage.
Please look here: Homepage HiG - Links (http://www.hans-im-glueck.de/links/) - look at "Carcassonne" - Carcassonne-Forum (the last position) ---------------------------------------------- Here you can find also the link to our homepage of CarcassonneCentral (it's in the middle) ---------------------------------------- ...and look here: Homepage HiG - Carcassonne - Carcassonne-Grundspiel (http://www.hans-im-glueck.de/carcassonne/carcassonne-grundspiel/) - The box "Online" - Carcassonne-Forum Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on December 01, 2012, 06:51:39 pm Khonnor83, you are online. I see that, but I know, you can't post anything. You posted at BGG again. I wrote an email to Scott, but he didn't answers at BGG yet.
Please look here in my posts and really ignore all the problems and choose only the backfile button at your browser (ignore again what you see) - Click "HOME" - and than you can look at the forum and your post. I am not at BGG - only at the HiG-Chat (http://www.hans-im-glueck.de/carcassonne/carcassonne-grundspiel/) - scroll down under the video - Kommentare (that is the HiG-Chat). Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on December 02, 2012, 09:59:55 am Scott answered at BGG.
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on December 03, 2012, 02:21:37 am The weekend is gone - and we have here the same problems.
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Sekim on December 03, 2012, 11:13:51 am I wouldn't count on major changes within a short amount of time. Maybe not even by the end of the year. Obviously, the issues with the forum aren't easy to handle, so I guess we should be happy with what we've got. After all .... this is better than how it was during the last 1 or 2 month ;)
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on December 04, 2012, 04:48:16 pm I can't send a PM. The Verification-Code - The picture is not there - so I can't see any letters or numbers of any Code. Some month ago we haven't such a "Verification-Code". It was easy to send a PM. Today I tested again if I can write a PM - and it's working. I can write a PM now. There is no Verification Code, that is great. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Carcking on December 05, 2012, 08:14:30 pm I am glad to see that the forum is back up in some condition. I miss you guys ;D
I haven't been able to get on for some few months at least. Is the Downloads section gone? Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on December 09, 2012, 04:53:25 am I am glad to see that the forum is back up in some condition. I miss you guys ;D I haven't been able to get on for some few months at least. Is the Downloads section gone? Hi Carcking, our talk about the Mini Dispatches is gone and so many other postings. I hope, that Gantry could bring back some of the informations. The Downloads - all what I know is that only the older Downloads are working. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Scott on December 09, 2012, 02:28:03 pm The download module is broken and has been disabled. We'll have one again after the forums are fixed and upgraded.
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Scott on December 12, 2012, 06:17:38 am Please note that any posts created at this time may be lost when the forum is finally fixed and upgraded.
I've been e-mailing with Gantry and he has been slightly delayed getting back from a business trip. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on December 18, 2012, 04:30:35 am If someone don't know how to log in or how to post and can't answers Matt:
Please read the whole postings here. I posted here many times how to do that things. Greetings kettlefish Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on December 20, 2012, 11:56:47 pm This is what Matt wrote me by email on Tuesday evening:
Quote Hi Right now I can only look at the normal posts. But I can't log in, and I can't post anywhere. Just as well this happened after I wrote the post about eBay. But now I can't do anything. Sigh. Matt I gave him the instructions how to log in or how to post. But I heard nothing else from him since Tuesday. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Scott on December 22, 2012, 12:08:49 pm I've been having trouble logging in also. The usual solution doesn't always work; I was getting a message that my password was incorrect. Seems to have resolved itself, for now anyway.
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on December 22, 2012, 12:13:07 pm Yes, the same problem had Matt on Tuesday.
I have the same problem sometimes, too. But I go out of the internet, then I go again in the internet and I log in - sometimes this forum doesn't know that the "log in" button is a "log in" button. Then you see the ERROR. What could help is follows: -fill in: your Name -fill in: your Password Please don't click at the "log in" button with the mouseclick You need only the ENTER Space at the keyboard. Then you see the typical problems. The white screen.... that is what I told you many times. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on December 23, 2012, 06:21:32 am We have in the German Carcassonne-Forum a new member:
klaus-juergen. That member is the author of Carcassonne: Klaus-Juergen Wrede. www.carcassonne-forum.de Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on December 28, 2012, 09:47:18 am Yes, the same problem had Matt on Tuesday. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Bixby on December 30, 2012, 12:01:34 am Any chance we could get an official word on the status and timeframe for the forum upgrade? I know this is all volunteer work, but these efforts could certainly benefit from some more proactive communications. A quarter of a year has gone by and members have left, other sites are starting to gain traction from a Carcassonne standpoint, and still no sign that there is a plan and timeframe to stabilize the site.
Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on December 30, 2012, 08:53:33 am Hi Bixby,
I wrote an email to Scott two days ago. He answers me that he will write an email to Gantry again. Gantry is too Great that he would answers me directly. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Purity on January 02, 2013, 02:06:13 pm still no news? i fear you are losing all your base :-/
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Trebuchet on January 02, 2013, 05:25:51 pm certainly in regards to the fanspan download section i have to agree on that, always a big treat for CC fans visiting carcassonne central i reckon, was for me anyway. Just wanted to let know the technicians I have all the expansions that have appeared for download on this site in the past, stacked on a mac, so if at any time needed in case of a general loss due to the forum upgrade, i can provide a PDF back-up of all finished expansions in case that's needed. ;)

Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Purity on January 03, 2013, 01:09:31 pm ...i can provide a PDF back-up of all finished expansions in case that's needed... only for admins or also for highly interested fans (like me) which missed some months :-) Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Carcking on January 04, 2013, 02:18:31 pm I have all the expansions that have appeared for download on this site in the past, stacked on a mac, so if at any time needed in case of a general loss due to the forum upgrade, i can provide a PDF back-up of all finished expansions in case that's needed. ;) Good to know Trebuchet. I too have them all stacked on my computer...available for the asking. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Bixby on January 04, 2013, 02:57:41 pm I have experience in running an SMF site. If there is interest and we have all of the files I could register a domain and setup a website for the Carcassonne Community. I am reluctant to do this without a certain level of interest though. I am guessing that Gantry's heart is just not into this site anymore. It is unfortunate, but likely a reality.
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on January 07, 2013, 12:23:24 pm So here again some emails between me and Scott - today 07.01.2013:
Scott: Quote Won't be able to post in the forum until after work. Got an email from Gantry; he was sick over the holidays and then had two business trips. He hopes to work on the forum tonight. He can't log in to the forum to post updates himself else he would have. my questions: Quote Should I post at the forum the information, that Gantry likes to work on the forum tonight? Also should I tell them again, that all the new post would get lost? Did I understand that correct, that Gantry has the same problems with the log in like you and Matt? Greetings kettlefish Scott answered: Quote Yes to all. --------------------------------- I copied all my PM and all my postings here as a word.doc. I need the informations for the CAR. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Albinoasian on January 08, 2013, 02:54:29 am If this forum supported tapatalk that would be awesome. Easy access from android, getting alerts to replies etc :)
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Carcking on January 08, 2013, 09:00:55 am Also should I tell them again, that all the new post would get lost? If these recent posts will be lost will there be a way to back them up first so they can be archived? At least for reference if they are not able to be restored? Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Albinoasian on January 08, 2013, 10:52:48 am From what date would posts be lost? Any idea?
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on January 08, 2013, 11:13:04 am From what date would posts be lost? Any idea? I think from that day since this forum is online again. 28/29.11.2012. ------------------ I posted many clarifications of the rules (between me an HiG - Georg Wild, and people from the HiG-Chat) more than 100 posts during 3 and a half month (from June to the middle of Oct 2012). It's all gone. Perhaps Gantry could repair something. I don't know. The last time - in the middle of Oct - Gantry posted that he likes to work at the forum. A half an hour later the forum was gone. I had only the choice to copy a few of the posts. And we need the posts for the CAR (from CAR 6.1 to CAR 6.2). The story about the fairy, the dispaches, the minis, the Wind Roses, the Gingerbread Man - all the post are gone. I don't say that they are lost. I hope that Gantry has some paticular updates of the postings. And then obervet03 and I were again working from the "beginning" with the CAR. We hadn't a forum and we hadn't all the important information. All the time we were working at the CAR by email. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Carcking on January 08, 2013, 12:04:30 pm Ouch! That is horrible. I hope it all can be recovered. That's a terrible loss.
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on January 08, 2013, 01:00:52 pm Carcking,
Do you remember our great talking about the Dispatches (Messages)? All my information about the telephone calls with Georg Wild (HiG)? All the examples? The strategy about the Dispatches? All the postings about the Turn Summary - Skull One - all is gone. I posted more than 106 posts (date 13.10.2012) but all the other people here were posting, too. I think there are more than 300 - 400 posts gone. (all from you, Scott, obervet03, MrNumbers, Skull One......) For example the posts about the correction reading "CAR 6.0 to CAR 6.1" - that were more than 70 posts there. This time I copied all what I need. If the information about the new posts get lost again here in the forum, that doesn't matter for me. I have the information as a word.doc. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Carcking on January 08, 2013, 04:13:54 pm I remember...I didn't realize we had lost so much. I hope Gantry or someone is able to recover it. Especially the CAR discussions and the Turn Order discussions...

Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Whaleyland on January 09, 2013, 11:42:17 am My computer seems to be inconsistent. I can't post on Safari or log out (though the system says I'm logged in). On Chrome, I get an "incorrect password" error. On Firefox, I have mixed results, such as now. The forum just needs to get upgraded or replaced. People aren't going to go out of their way to log in unless they already have a vested interest in getting into the site.
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on January 09, 2013, 11:47:48 am email from Scott to me:

Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Goonie on January 09, 2013, 12:29:08 pm Oops...it didn't appear to have posted but it obviously had. I had the second time a special problem with CarcC. That has nothing to do with the typical problems here. But this problem is to much important. More information follows. I'll wait for answers from the admins. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on January 27, 2013, 11:49:16 am The special problem:
The Forum changes identity even though you are not logged in. This identity can affect also other users. No one knows whether the foreign identity can change also the posts from the original user. Gantrys answer to Scott: Quote The database will have to be restored from a previous one, I will work on this tomorrow evening. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on January 29, 2013, 12:38:21 pm Perhaps this evening Gantry will work at this forum.
That means all the new posts (since Nov 2012) will be lost. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Carcking on January 29, 2013, 12:57:34 pm It looks like they only go back to January 11th, 2013. Maybe something happened already on Jan. 11 that deleted the posts prior to that.
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on January 31, 2013, 05:10:19 am I have got answers from Scott and Gantry today: no commentScott wrote this to Gantry: Quote I can't login to the forums so I can't put it into maintenance mode. Gantrys answer to Scott: Quote The database will have to be restored from a previous one, I will work on this tomorrow evening. Greetings Marion / kettlefish Scott answers me - 05.02.2013 - 0:16: Quote I suggested to him that he should set up new forums and make the old ones read only; the community can copy over anything important. I think at this point trying to fix the old forums is hopeless. Gantry emailed me back this morning that he plans to do this tonight. from me to Scott: Quote Hi Scott, again at BGG: Mr. Burn (carcassebs) ... ------------------------------------------- What I personally know from Moritz Brunnhofer (HiG) is, that they prefer to have only one english speaking Forum - that is CarcassonneCentral. I will call him tomorrow. Greetings kettlefish from Scott to me: Quote I posted a reply. This is very frustrating for me... I don't need this guy making it worse. from me to Scott again: Quote Hi Scott, that is what I think too... http://maik63.bplaced.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=75&p=2744#p2742 I will do my best tomorrow by call with Moritz Brunnhofer. That guy carcassebs - nobody knows him. ... What I like to have is CarcC - nothing else. (the only other is the German Carcassonne-Forum - but that is a special one.) And when CarcC is successful again - then I ask Moritz if CarcC become the 2nd Link at their Homepage like the German Carcassonne-Forum. Greetings kettlefish from Scott to me again: Quote I understand that people prefer to talk in their own language. That is why I repost news from HiG on Facebook in English. Fewer communities is best; people ask the same questions and it becomes more work to share knowledge. I appreciate that Moritz agrees with this. I emailed Gantry that we need the new forums quickly and he said they would be ready soon. I hope that soon means tonight or tomorrow. Definitely they (HiG) don't like the idea of a 2nd English speaking forum. The only one for the English speaking world is CarcassonneCentral. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: admin (maintenance only do not contact) on February 07, 2013, 08:27:47 pm Hi all this is Gantry.
Just wanted to let you all know that the new forums are coming along just fine. Basically they are a mirror image of this one. At some point in the near future, I will be locking these forums as read-only if I'm able. So this will force everyone to register on the new forums (using their exact same username and email address as this one) to be able to post. So what I'd like to ask is that if you have something to post, that you want some discussion on, it will be best if you wait to post on the new forums (since these will be locked as read-only). I don't have a specific timeline, but I am continuing to work on it for a few more hours tonight. The forums are replicated, the member groups are done. The tough part now is assigning the complex permissions system to the new forum's membergroups and boards. There are thousands of settings I have to check and cross-reference so it is going slow. Hopefully I should be done tomorrow at the latest. I can no longer log in as Gantry so I have to log in as admin. Oh also avoid emailing me until further notice, thanks for your continued patience. I will continue to post updates as they happen here. -Gantry Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: admin (maintenance only do not contact) on February 07, 2013, 08:59:55 pm Okay, at this time I would like to ask ONLY the admins, moderators and site staff to register on the new forum, the address is here: Registration Page (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?action=register) PLEASE register using the same email address you used on the old site. You will be able to change it at a later date.
I have to approve each registrant so if you don't get an approval right away just have patience, I do need to sleep sometime! Then please check in by saying hello in the existing thread in General. If you are not a mod or site staff, please refrain from registering right now. Thanks. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Purity on February 08, 2013, 03:52:38 am can't wait to register :-)

Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on February 08, 2013, 12:35:49 pm Hi Gantry,
I miss in the new forum at the list of expansions in the profil: - Mini 1-6 (7) - for example: The Ferries, The Mage & Witch... - Wind Roses (that is what Whaleyland told) - Winter-Edition - The Gingerbread Man My idea is to put all the special expansions from Spielbox in a separate block - The Tunnels - The Cathars And at the moment the list is from a-z. I think it's better: - basic game + big extensions - all the minis (HiG) - all the minis (Spielbox...) - BigBox 1-4 - special editions (Wheel of fortune, 10years-edition...) - Stand alone games (Hunters & Gatherers, The Winter-Edition....) You can find an example what I think about at the German Carcassonne-Forum: http://maik63.bplaced.net/forum/index.php http://maik63.bplaced.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=14 Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on February 08, 2013, 12:47:54 pm Also - Moritz Brunnhofer told us (for the German Carcassonne-Forum)
that we need an "Impressum" (the adress) Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: admin (maintenance only do not contact) on February 08, 2013, 01:04:28 pm kettlefish, can you please register on the new site, thanks
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on February 08, 2013, 01:11:36 pm I can't - the letters are so difficult to read.
So, now I think it works. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: admin (maintenance only do not contact) on February 08, 2013, 02:14:27 pm for those captchas, there is a button where you can try a different picture.
Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: admin (maintenance only do not contact) on February 08, 2013, 02:20:57 pm Okay, at this time I would like to ask ONLY the authors and founding members to register on the new forum, the address is here: Registration Page (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?action=register)
PLEASE register using the same email address you used on the old site. I have to approve each registrant so if you don't get an approval right away just have patience. Then please check in by saying hello in the existing thread in General. NOTE: if you have trouble with the Captcha, there is a button to change the picture to a different one. Just switch it until you find an easy to read one. If you are not part of the above-mentioned groups please refrain from registering right now, public registration will begin very soon! Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Sekim on February 08, 2013, 03:56:51 pm Hi Gantry, I miss in the new forum at the list of expansions in the profil: - Mini 1-6 (7) - for example: The Ferries, The Mage & Witch... - Wind Roses (that is what Whaleyland told) - Winter-Edition - The Gingerbread Man My idea is to put all the special expansions from Spielbox in a separate block - The Tunnels - The Cathars And at the moment the list is from a-z. You can find an example what I think about at the German Carcassonne-Forum: http://maik63.bplaced.net/forum/index.php http://maik63.bplaced.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=14 1. To be honest ... I hope the new CarcCentral forum won't look like the maik63 forum with all the separate sections for each and every expansion. I love the way this 'old' CarcCentral is put together. With the 'General' section and 'The Workshop' and all. Especially the Workship is what (in my opinion) made CarcCentral what it is today and why people always are coming back. 2. I think there's no need to have a perfect forum when it goes online. Certain sections or changes can always be made by moderators. Gantry has done a great job so far with the old CarcCentral and now putting a lot of effort into the new forum. To keep the work intensity as low as possible, I think it's best to only concentrate on the things which are really important now to get it up and running. I'm patient .... but unfortunately a lot of others aint. Just my 2 cents. And keep up the good work Gantry {up Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Sekim on February 08, 2013, 04:05:32 pm I just checked the new forum for the first time and see that you kept the exact same arrangement of topics. That's just the way I love it {up

When you look at your profile here at CarC - you can say what extension you have or what you want or no interest. My post there were only to look at it, that we don't forgive any expansion from the world of Carcassonne. That's all. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: Sekim on February 08, 2013, 04:19:53 pm Now I see what you meant with those expansions in the user profile ;)
I used that option once I think. I wouldn't mind if it came back .... nor if it wouldn't. But what do you mean with CarcCentral not being a forum? Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: kettlefish on February 08, 2013, 04:29:40 pm So Sekim,
I changed a little bit my last post. The German Carcassonne-Forum is a special one. I will put the whole HiG-Chat in the forum - the questions and answers separated to each of the expansions (I have already finished 2012 an 2011 - the work for 2010-2008 is open) In the past HiG had a separate Carcassonne Homepage with the FAQ. The FAQ were separated in each of the Carcassonne expansions. That is what I do there. That is it what HiG like to have, too - I called with Moritz Brunnhofer some time ago about this. Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: admin (maintenance only do not contact) on February 08, 2013, 04:45:52 pm ***
NOTE *** In 3 more hours, roughly at 6pm, I plan to prevent existing users from creating new posts on these, the old forums. You will still be able to contribute to existing posts. If anyone has any objections please let me know so I can add you to the exceptions list. thanks Title: Re: Forum Upgrade Post by: admin (maintenance only do not contact) on February 08, 2013, 08:33:43 pm Regular members should no longer be able to create new posts, only reply in existing posts.
