Title: What's missing from your collection of Carcassonne? Post by: quevy on April 25, 2012, 06:01:11 am I am passionate in carcassonne only several months, I received a copy as a gift but was in a closet with mildew. In the short time I recovered I was everything possible.
All I need is the basic box with the wheel of fortune and those attached to the magazine of the sanctuaries. To you what is missing? Would you buy something do not ever? Title: Re: What's missing from your collection of Carcassonne? Post by: Scott on April 28, 2012, 07:21:38 pm I see you posted this a few days ago, but nobody has responded. The reason for this is because we do not understand what you are trying to say. We know that English is difficult for you, so I think maybe it would be helpful for you if we went through each sentence.
Quote I am passionate in carcassonne only several months, From this I understand that you consider yourself still fairly new to the game, having been a fan for only the past few months. Quote I received a copy as a gift but was in a closet with mildew. From this I understand that you were introduced to the game of Carcassonne by someone who gave it to you as a gift. You recently discovered that the closet where you stored the game has a mildew problem and it has damaged your copy of Carcassonne. Quote In the short time I recovered I was everything possible. I am not sure what you are saying here, but I get the impression that you attempted to salvage as much as you could from the mildew. Quote All I need is the basic box with the wheel of fortune and those attached to the magazine of the sanctuaries. This is also difficult to understand. You make reference to the Wheel of Fortune version of the game and one of the Spielbox expansions (Shrines?). It is not clear whether you are describing which parts of your game were damaged and need to be replaced, or if you are describing which expansions you consider it essential to play with. Quote To you what is missing? I think you are asking us what we would consider essential to include in a game of Carcassonne? Quote Would you buy something do not ever? I do not understand this second question. It does not make sense in English. Title: Re: What's missing from your collection of Carcassonne? I do not understand this second question. It does not make sense in English. What ever do not buy the series Carcassonne? I for example I bought the catapult, only for collectors, I do not think I will use it to play ever, to increase the maximum number of pieces, but with the Regulation. I have many questions and topics I want to talk with you, unfortunately every time I try, because of the language, there are these drawbacks. I regret this very much and most of all I apologize to all users ... Title: Re: What's missing from your collection of Carcassonne? I do not own the Catapult (one of the few i dont have), although if I got it for a cheap enough price, I'd give it a shot. My kids would probably really enjoy the catapult, until they break it :) Title: Re: What's missing from your collection of Carcassonne? Post by: meepleater on April 30, 2012, 03:01:41 am I don't own the tunnel, or anything released after bridges castles and bazaars- since all of it is either yet to be released in english (tunnel, crop circles, plague, school, minis) or will later be released in a compilation (festival (too expensive on its own), phantom (was going to buy this anyway but its out of print)). I'm too much of a collector to never get some of the expansions ;)
And I had no trouble understanding your original post. Title: Re: What's missing from your collection of Carcassonne? Post by: Carcking on April 30, 2012, 02:44:37 pm I've been lucky enough to land all the expansions to date and have printed off 30 or more fanspansions or variants...and looking for more. Can't wait for the Minis to hit the States.
I got your meaning regarding the mildew - it was just a cheeky way to say the game had been in storage for a while before you really got interested in it. An American might say " when I pulled it out it had about a half inch layer of dust on it." Kind of an exaggeration with a hint of truth behind it. ;) Title: Re: What's missing from your collection of Carcassonne? Post by: MrNumbers on April 30, 2012, 03:18:35 pm I own only big expansions (all of them), so from mini-expansions I have only River (got it with basic game) and whose included in 6th expansion. The reason why I haven't got others is quite simple: I am the fan of this game only for 1,5 year, so many expansion is hard to get, especially here, in Latvia. But in nearest future I will order some mini-expansions over Internet (little afraid of these ebays etc.).
Title: Re: What's missing from your collection of Carcassonne? Post by: haheho_joker on May 02, 2012, 02:45:14 am I have almost all expansions before bridge and castle, that means I still don't have crop circle, tunnel and stuff. I am waiting RGG's box for these actually.
The only one I don't have before bridge is catapult, if you don't count the GQ extra tiles as expansions. Seriously it would be nice if there will be a Carcassonne SUPER Big Box to get all the expansions in one! Title: Re: What's missing from your collection of Carcassonne? Post by: Scott on May 12, 2012, 10:23:43 am Thanks quevy, I understand now.
My copy of Carcassonne gathers lots of dust too, since I have difficulty getting people to play with me. Due to my mad purchasing spree a few months ago, not much is missing from my collection. I have all the magazine expansions from Germany. I don't have the new minis yet, since they are still not released (and not yet listed in the distributor's catalog). Falcon expansion for Castle is in the catalog but still not yet available. Corn Circles, Plague, & Tunnel is also not released yet; although I have them in mini form, I'll be buying the compilation because the Corn Circle tiles are different than the German ones. Of the things which are available, the ones I don't have yet are Travel Carcassonne, Discovery, and Kids of Carcassonne. The first two are easily obtained, but Kids of Carcassonne seems to be no longer in print so Carcatronn is probably not able to get it. Title: Re: What's missing from your collection of Carcassonne? Post by: thescottishguy on May 14, 2012, 02:56:54 pm I have a bit of a completionist problem so I own pretty much everything published by HiG RGG or Spielbox. I haven't picked up the new minis yet, waiting for them to come to the US, and I'll likely pick up the RGG compilation of crop circles tunnels and plague at the same time.
