Title: How to finding local players Post by: Phishn4dmb on March 13, 2012, 06:19:38 pm Hey all:
I love this game as you all do, but i would like to play it more in person. I have the Big box 3 and live in Down Town Long Beach, CA and was wondering if any of you could direct me to where to find, meet and play with people. Kind of a weird question but any help is appreciated.. Thanks Steve Title: Re: How to finding local players Post by: CKorfmann on March 13, 2012, 10:14:26 pm Welcome to the forum. It's funny you mention this because we have been discussing a mapping application for members the site.
It's hit or miss finding someone here due to our relatively small number of active members. I recommend starting with Board Game Geek. You can search for members by location. THIS (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/browser.php?itemtype=flag&country=United+States&state=california&city=long+beach) link has shows all the active members from Long Beach. I'd start there and check a few of them to see who might have Carcassonne listed in their game library and then perhaps message a few of them to see if they'd be interested in, or could point you toward a group. You could also search for game groups in your region at THIS (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/forum/101/boardgamegeek/west) link. In my are there are 3 game con every years. And with some of people from cons I play occasionally. Also I had organise (half year ago) game in one of local bars. We played 3 games (basic game + 2 exps). People were joining with every game. Nice thing bit I didn't have extra games to run couple of tables. Maybe I will organise something similiar in next few months. Don't know yet.

Title: Re: How to finding local players Post by: Bixby on March 20, 2012, 12:48:33 pm How about a PINNED thread on this site where players could divulge there location in this wished? The first post in the thread could be updated to contain a directory of players that are open/willing to meet others. If there is interest, I will set it up and humbly ask one of the admins to PIN the thread. :)

Current Carcassonne Meetups (http://www.meetup.com/find/?keywords=carcassonne&mcId=&mcName=&lat=&lon=&userFreeform=&gcResults=&submitButton=Search&op=search) |
