just got an email from HiG.  :)

On 19. December a new Edition 'will hit the shelves': The Carcassonne Winter Edition. This Edition is available only as a download (PDF) in the Carcassonne shop on the HiG page.

This edition will include all tiles from the Carcassonne Basic Edition. You have to buy and print the PDF and stick the printed edition on original blank tiles (that also available in the shop).

That's pretty cool.  I wonder how the farmer farms in winter.  ;)

Oh this is awesome! Just in time for a Christmas.. I wonder if they will provide any tips for printing and/or provide a printed version for purchase?

Hmm... this gives me something to do with the basic tiles from the 10th anniversary edition.

OH!  I totally didn't think of that!  (Although, I have lots of blank tiles right now, too!)

Only stickers (in case you print them onto adhesive paper that is).

I haven't seen anything on their site.  Nor have I received any updates, etc.  The postcards are up, but the winter edition isn't there, yet.

I just noticed that the Crop Circles are gone from their site. Sold out maybe ?

It's available! It's listed in two parts for 2.00 EU each. I am working with HiG to offer this in the Shoppe soon just in case you can wait a day or two to support us... Should have this up on the Shoppe tomorrow!

The download probably won't be available until tomorrow though.

Sekim is correct, the website says it will be active on Dec. 20th. You can buy both parts which are €2,00 each. They also mention on the description that the most common, i.e. most popular, expansions may be released in the future, probably for a similar price. I'd imagine Trader & Builder and Inns & Cathedrals will be the specific ones. It would be interesting to see The River done in ice, though.

Is there anyone that can translate the german description completely? I mean, do I need to pay shipping for a download?
I added them to my basket, but can't seem to checkout.

The description doesn't say if shipping is extra but since it is a download, I'd imagine there is no shipping cost unless you purchase items as well.

Also, the download isn't active yet according to the website, so that may be why checkout isn't working. Or it could be because their checkout process stinks and doesn't sync very well with PayPal. I have yet to be able to successfully purchase anything from their store.

Just ordered it & was able to download it.  It did add shipping into it, but I didn't really mind.

I did manage to buy it, and also ordered 72 blank tiles (if I already have to pay shipping, might as well make use of it).

How did you receive the download? Did you get an e-mail? It's been a few hours now and still haven't received anything yet....

It looks nice!  I'll have to find some good paper to print it on.  I really like the little details, sleds, snow on the roofs, etc.

Under "Mein Konto" you need to login, then over on the left side, it shows "Meine Downloads"  Click on that and you should see 6 links - each one is a pdf file that you need.

If I can figure out how to do a decent screenshot of it, I'll do that...

IMHO, it would have been nice to have some 'bleed' between the tiles.  But it looks really neat!

According to Google Translate, the download links are blocked until they confirm the payment has been processed.

I've tried everything, but can't get my order to go through. Paypal says that the data supplied by the merchant is not good enough. :(

I haven't ordered yet. Not until they resolved the 'shipping' charge issue.

I see what you mean - the tiles do not "blend" well next to each other. But I do like the finer touches like ski trails around the cloister and snowmen here and there.

Figured out the shipping issue. They said if you order both files at once it adds shipping charges. You have to purchase each one independently to avoid shipping charges. Small glitch there I guess but at least they have a work around.

I did receive 72 tiles.  The shipping charge issue was kind of a pain, but since it went through PayPal, I actually had a few dollars that I didn't know I had in there!

I love the design of these tiles but the computer-generated shadowing on the snow pretty much turns this formerly must-have expansion into a "meh" for me. I can't imagine the tiles look much like a snowy landscape with the varying tones.

I love them, just for their cute-factor.  ;D

Printed them today on sticker paper. Now patiently waiting for the blank tiles to arrive from cundco.

Is anyone familiar with them? Do they ship fast? Will you receive an email when they ship?

I received an e-mail from them today about the shipment thingy. The actually created 2 sets for €2 on purpose because orders till €2 don't get charged extra for shipment. So you have to order both seperatly to not get over those €2.

By the way .... last time I ordered, it took about 2 weeks till I got it. (From Germany to the Netherlands).

Ah, thank you for letting me know...I also live in The Netherlands...so guess I won't be playing with these until 2012... :'(

Today I was finally able to download the Winter Edition and I must say, most of the graphics looks nice and cute. Especially the snowy cloisters and the towns are great. But I also dislike the computer generated backgrounds. These backgrounds does not fit to the other graphics.

I also think so. But it turns out that's not a big problem. I edited the PDFs with Foxit Reader and retrieve all single tiles. The tiles have a good quality (802x802pixel/24bit). As usual I arranged all tiles in a Word document with a little space between the tiles and 24 tiles per page (every tile I resized with a macro exactly to a dimension of 4,5 cm x 4,5 cm). This saves a little money when you're printing out the tiles in a copy shop on a professional laser printer. And it makes full use of the stickers that were used for printing. And you only have one file (three pages).

I sent an e-mail to service@cundco.de explaining the problem with Paypal and got a reply that I should send the payment to that e-mail address and they can finish processing my order.

Can always pick this up in the Shoppe instead  ;)

If I wasn't already half-way through buying from Cundco I would have. :-\

I just downloaded the six ??? PDF files and I notice that on a few tiles a portion of a road is buried in snow. I'm pretty sure this is just for looks, but I already anticipate arguments about whether the farms on either side of the road are now connected, so I sent an e-mail to Cundco to see what they have to say for themselves.

Anyone have a link/cost to the tiles.

There aren't any tiles.  It is a download that you print off onto sticker paper and use either blank tiles or tiles you no longer use.  Unless you're talking about the blank tiles:

is it me, or this is totally pointless, and uninspired??, can we have a GOOD expansion containing more than 2 tiles and with constructive and innovative, a premiere since the Trades & Builders...??

I don't like that it really doesn't work with existing game

I went to the office supply store yesterday and got some 8.5x11 full sheet labels, printed everything out, and this morning I finished sticking them to tiles. I think I've nicely solved two problems simultaneously by sticking the labels to the tiles from the 10th Anniversary edition. That edition comes with transparent meeples, which makes it awkward to play with expansions that have additional meeples. Since the winter graphics make it awkward to play with expansions also, now I have the winter graphics and transparent meeples in the same set.

Nice. And given that the anniversary tiles are thinner than regular tiles that's a good use of those tiles.
