Title: Multi evening game started by wife and I.
Post by: jcardwell3rd on August 01, 2011, 11:42:51 pm
 ;D

So we started a big game tonight. May finish tomorrow.

We are using the following rules and tiles: 2 base sets, 10 th aniversary, wheel without wheel, river I, river II, games quarterly, inns and cathedrals, traders and builders, abbey and mayor no barn all abbeys, tower, king and robber, bridge and castle no bazaar all bridges all castles, 11 cult tiles, siege.

Do the math and let me know how many tiles it is, remember 3 of the river tiles will not be used. None of the starting tiles are used and wof counts the wheel as its starting tile. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

This is where we left off tonight.

Looks like fun, although the math of figuring out how many tiles that is wouldn't be...

I'm curious why there are 3 meeples on the score track??  It looks like you might not have a white meeple for that, but it's hard to see the one behind the green.

There are actually 4 meeples on the track, mine(red), my wifes(white), the robber marker(green with envy and a black shirt), and the king marker (yellow wearing royal blue)

So this is how we keep track of our road and city size.

I figure it is 432 tiles not including the abbeys.

Ah, I missed the white one.  That's a good idea for tracking the king & robber baron sizes.  It does take a long time to count those at the end.

I got 447 if you are including the 10 festival tiles from the 10th Anniv.  453 if you count the Abbeys.

2 base sets: 144
10th: 72 (+10?)
wheel: 72 (I don't think they cound the wheel as one of the 72.)
river I: 12
river II: 9 (less 3 as stated)
games quarterly: 12
inns and cathedrals: 18
traders and builders: 24
abbey and mayor: 24
tower: 18
king and robber: 5
bridge and castle: 12
cult tiles: 11
siege: 4

I like your idea for the king and robber too.  Seems like a great solution!  Can you show us a photo of all your suplimental figures?  Why no barns?  The barns are great.

(An interesting side note for my games, I always have to had one to the count because for some reason, my Count set came with an extra pig heard tile from the GQ11.  I just include it with the base tiles.)

I missed 12 or you have 12 extra, I just count them when we are done ;-)

I just counted what you listed.

Did you just use one of the regular starting tiles from a base set?

The starting piece is the spring from GQ11 and the rest of the river tiles.

Can you show us a photo of all your suplimental figures?

I only painted 2 as markers, I used a paint pen so they are crap, i want to paint others and get detailed and use model paint but im not sure it is worth it :-)

I painted others before wagons and mayors were available, I drew pennants on pieces to represent mayors and wagons to represent well... wagons.

I want to set up all my figures and markers to take a picture of my meeple army at some point too.

Sounds like a winner to me!

That's right.  Not sure where I got 24.

We finished the third night but I have yet to take pictures and do final tally, more to come.

Well I finally got around to taking pictures and tallying up the final score, though the tiles aren't away yet lol.

This is what 432 tiles looks like on my table(i included the past two nights as well). I need a few more full sets to completely cover my table i guess, I could do a calculation ... I WILL do a calculation to see how many tiles i need to fill the table.

The final score. I forgot to include the castle farming in the score, my bad.

The weird thing about a game this long is what happened to the low scorer in this game, it is so long that you can just forget about farming because the end is so far off for so long and end up with out enough tiles to backdoor your way into a farm.

Our son holding on to his big meeple waiting for "just the right time" to place it!
