Title: Outdoor Carcassone Set, Scale 3:1 Post by: Lavendel on July 08, 2011, 06:10:24 am Last week I got the idea of how cool it would be to play Carcassonne on the lawn.
So I put down the hours needed and this Wednesday we had our first go. Instant success. I'm sure it will be a killer this summer with family and friends. Target scale: 3:1 Meeples: Clay. Hand shaped one by one. Air dried. Acrylic paint. Double layer of varnish. Tiles: Wooden base 140x140 mm. Laser printed back and front (135x135 mm) glued to base. Double layer of varnish. I want one! Are you planning on making expansions? Title: Re: Outdoor Carcassone Set, Scale 3:1 Post by: Lavendel on July 08, 2011, 05:10:27 pm No plans yet. This set is just 3 days old.
And the weight of just the set of tiles is about 4 kg. If I do expansions, Traders and Builders would be the first. Title: Re: Outdoor Carcassone Set, Scale 3:1 Post by: MrBlu on July 09, 2011, 11:44:22 am That's just plain cool!!!!!

Looks like you have a great group of players too! Title: Re: Outdoor Carcassone Set, Scale 3:1 Post by: CKorfmann on July 10, 2011, 12:31:09 pm That's pretty cool. Now on to a mega carc set! ;)
Title: Re: Outdoor Carcassone Set, Scale 3:1 Post by: Lavendel on July 10, 2011, 12:52:59 pm After a dozen of rounds, we've cracked one meeple so now I've decided to remake the meeples in wood. And then it would be more natural to extend the games with big meeples and Inns & Cathedrals. Less material than my favourite extension Traders & Builders. A collapsable scoreboard in bigger scale would also be cool.

it costs you how much?? Title: Re: Outdoor Carcassone Set, Scale 3:1 Post by: Lavendel on July 10, 2011, 05:19:40 pm In material? Maybe double the price of an original set.
In timE? Beyond reasonable limits. Title: Re: Outdoor Carcassone Set, Scale 3:1 Post by: CKorfmann on July 11, 2011, 07:48:02 am In timE? Beyond reasonable limits. :)This would be easier if we just had a 'like' button. Title: Re: Outdoor Carcassone Set, Scale 3:1 Post by: Deatheux on July 11, 2011, 06:06:05 pm In material? Maybe double the price of an original set. In timE? Beyond reasonable limits. without indiscretions, what is the material of the tiles(aka sidewalk!!!) and it's approx. weight? Title: Re: Outdoor Carcassone Set, Scale 3:1 Post by: Lavendel on July 12, 2011, 02:26:31 am Plywood, laserprinted paper and varnish.
One tile is approx 55 gram, that makes the whole 72 to weigh just above 4 kilograms. Title: Re: Outdoor Carcassone Set, Scale 3:1 Post by: Deatheux on July 12, 2011, 05:50:06 am WOW!! it's even a better build that a Kia.
Title: Re: Outdoor Carcassone Set, Scale 3:1 Post by: Carcatronn on July 20, 2011, 12:19:18 am Wow! The set looks like it came out great! I seriously have been pondering this idea for awhile, but glad to see it come to fruition through someone else :-) kudos!
