Title: Tips for Running a Game at a Game Convention
Post by: Gwommy on November 04, 2009, 05:51:09 pm
Does anyone have any tips for running a game at game conventions?  I'm planning on running a Mega-Carcassonne game at an upcoming game convention in Detroit (Wintercon) on Dec 5.  I'm planning playing a game with all of the expansions!  I'm guessing for it to take up a 4 hour time slot.  It'll be my first time ever even attending a gaming convention.  Let me know if you have any tips or info for me.  Thanks!

Well, my experience in games with all the expansions is that it took longer than 4 hours each time.  If you can devise a method to make the game run quickly, I'd try that.  I think then you might be able to make it fit.

Print off player aids for all the players if they are new to the game. If you are playing Mega Carc, I really hope the players are not new to the game. That can be an astounding amount for a new player to absorb in one sitting.

Most of all, have fun. Sounds like a blast.

Too bad you weren't a little closer, I'd try to come.
