Title: Other Carcs Post by: witoflash on May 14, 2007, 07:27:56 am Played the City and the Discovery this weekend. Loved the City; hated the Discovery and will probably not play it again. Anyone care to weigh in on these or other variations not expansions?

Title: Re: Other Carcs Post by: witoflash on May 15, 2007, 08:19:26 am I guess I didn't like the actual mechanism of the tile placement and scoring;and yes I know it's designed that way to be a strategic shift from standard Carc, but it was a detraction for me and my opponent, both. Neither of us liked it very much at all. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you were getting it free or cheap. :P

I got the Discovery a couple of months back. A group of us play the games at lunchtime in the office. First time we played it, all thought the same as you - Looks like Carcassonne, but has a different and weird feel to it. My advice, play a few more games, ideally with three or four players.
