Title: Fairy Trouble
Post by: Gantry on May 07, 2007, 10:52:14 am
Saturday night, Nat & I sit down to a game including River 1, Princess & Dragon, Inns & Cathedrals.  What bothered me the most is that Princess & Dragon should have been named Fairy & Dragon, as I kept accidentally calling the white Fairy meeple the Princess (or was it the other way around?)  Too confusing, instead of 3 characters they should have limited this one to 2, or else included a Princess meeple (or do I mean a Fairy meeple....)   ;)

In any case, a few rule questions popped up, and it makes me realize that no matter how good game companies playtest, they amazingly somehow forget to ask me to playtest their rules!   ;)

ie, If Nat plays a dragon tile, but places no followers, can she take the fairy and move it before the dragon moves? (yes, A.R. page 27)

Pausing in any game to look up questionable actions are always interruptions, but without them people like Matt wouldn't have a job (writing the Annotated Rules!)

Totally agree Gantry, should have been called the Fairy & Dragon. Although the princess isnt a piece it can be fairly damaging and even kick your own piece out of a city.

We played the other night, two player using River I/II, I&C,The Count, T&B, P&D,K&S, Tower, Cathars and GQ11, final score was 393 vs 325.
