Title: Time stamp? Post by: CKorfmann on July 11, 2009, 01:48:05 pm Just out of curiosity, what is the default time stamp for messages set too. It appears to be U.S. central time as I'm in the east and it's alway an hour behind me. Is this acurate or is it something else? Also, if someone does not provide their location for their profile, the local time will be set to the default as well, right? I suppose there would be no other option...
Title: Re: Time stamp? Post by: Whaleyland on July 11, 2009, 04:34:02 pm Mine is offset two hours westward, and I'm in Arizona (which is Mountain time, but doesn't observe DST, and therefore is -8 from Greenwich). That suggests to me, also, that the server time is Central Daylight Time right now.
Title: Re: Time stamp? Post by: Scott on July 11, 2009, 06:14:45 pm You can set your time zone in your profile to get everything showing at local time for you.
Title: Re: Time stamp? Post by: Gantry on July 12, 2009, 02:01:02 am It would make sense that no matter what timezone the server is in, one should set their own timezone (Profile, Look & Layout Prefs)
Title: Re: Time stamp? Post by: CKorfmann on July 12, 2009, 12:37:11 pm Yeah, I found that after reading Scott's comment and made the necessary adjustment. Thanks, that helps. :)
Title: Re: Time stamp? Post by: Gantry on July 12, 2009, 01:48:29 pm I should be ashamed that I can't remember if this server is in WA or TX....
Title: Re: Time stamp? Post by: Whaleyland on July 12, 2009, 02:08:33 pm lol. It should be in Texas if it's central time, which it appears to be.
Title: Re: Time stamp? Post by: Skull One on July 13, 2009, 01:25:15 pm Quick look up shows it to be in Dallas Tx. But I decided that was to general and did a full trace and it is located in or very near to Addison Tx.
Title: Re: Time stamp? Post by: Skull One on July 14, 2009, 02:39:19 pm Speaking of time, this servers clock is off by 6 mins. Just noticed that while editing a typo in another post.
Title: Re: Time stamp? Post by: CKorfmann on July 14, 2009, 11:00:52 pm I've noticed that before. It seems to be ahead, though I hadn't counted.
Title: Re: Time stamp? Post by: Vulch on July 15, 2009, 03:59:01 am Its 6 mins ahead of UK time as well.
What server does it run on? They need an atomic clock time check Title: Re: Time stamp? Post by: chr15lynn on July 15, 2009, 01:22:56 pm so much time to discuss time.....
